Cuban Food Tostones Chatinos

Tostones Chatinos Cuba

Cuban Tostones or Chatinos – both names are used for these boiled then fried un-ripened banana side dishes. The recipe is pretty simple, un-ripened green bananas are cut into small chunks crossways then boiled for 5 minutes until a little soft. They are then pressed with the palm of the hand until semi flat and fried. Usually served with salt you’ll find them as a tasty snack at most Cuban bars like Bodeguita del Medio or Floridita Cuba but also are enjoyed in Cuban homes as a daily side dish.
